This 5 day show in the centre of London was launched this Christmas.
There had been plenty of media hype and exposure so we knew there’d be masses of bargain hunters through the doors. With this in mind, we booked our pitch right at the entrance of the show in prime position.
For a Blackpool based firm, doing a show in the middle of London was always going to be a logistical nightmare! Our journey started at 4am on the Monday. We sent 2 vans to London packed with stock and the stand structure. Big Dave, Dave L and Mark S did a sterling job erecting the stand and displaying the merchandise.
By Tuesday afternoon we were polishing the mirrors, chrome ceramics, bulbing up the mosaic lamps and stacking up the fluffy toys ready for the opening day.
The 5 days flew by as we were kept extremely busy by the crowds hungry for our gifts, lighting, mirrors and modern furniture. By close of play on Sunday we were shattered but still had the daunting task of dismantling the stand and loading the wagons. Chelsea and Liverpool were playing round the corner so the traffic was dense and stress levels were rising!
By 9pm we had finished and headed to the local pub for a well-deserved pint.
